En The Forks, un lugar de encuentro de las primeras naciones por siglos y ahora un lugar de encuentro de todos en la ciudad, cada árbol albergaba un grupo de personas con abanicos disfrutando la sombra.
We arrived in Winnipeg in the middle of the scorching sun with 30 degrees C on all visible thermometers and a rising temperature alert. In The Forks, a First Nations gathering place for centuries and now a gathering place for everyone in the city, each tree housed a group of people with fans enjoying the shade.
El lugar estaba repleto, era el Pride Day y las personas disfrutaba el espacio, la manifestación y el encuentro. Decidimos iniciar nuestra exploración por el Museo de los Derechos Humanos, una colección generosa que aborda el asunto desde los conceptos, pasando por el proceso de protección y recuperación, así como una extensa colección para rememorar eventos lamentables en la historia global y canadiense. Cómo en otras ocasiones, este museo invita a la reflexión profunda de la humanidad que somos y queremos ser, elevando la conciencia sobre el poder de la voz y el respeto a las voces como forma de construir esta vida colectiva que somos.
The place was packed, it was Pride Day and everyone enjoyed the space, the exhibitions, the music, and the get-together. We decided to start our exploration in the Museum of Human Rights, a generous ollection, which addresses the issue from concepts through the process of protection and recovery, as well as an extensive collection to commemorate unfortunate events in Canadian and global history. As on other occasions, this museum invites deep reflection on the humanity that we are and want to be, increasing awareness of the power of the voice and respect for voices as a way of building the collective life we are.
Gracias a las cosas de la vida cotidiana, pudimos recorrer varias áreas de la ciudad y apreciar las cosas simples de la vida en los barrios por fuera del centro, nos llamó la atención la cantidad de locales comerciales cerrados después de la pandemia. Casas pequeñas, cómo de cuentos infantiles y edificaciones de una sola planta se despliegan por la ciudad.
Thanks to the need to take care of various routine tasks, we were able to visit various areas of the city and appreciate the simple things of life in the neighborhoods outside the center. The number of closed commercial stores after the pandemic caught our attention. Small houses, like those in children's drawingsand one-story buildings are present throughout the city.
La galería de arte de Winnipeg, el museo de arte contemporáneo y el museo de arte Inuit representaron una gran fuente de satisfacción e inspiración. Sin duda el museo Qaumajuq de arte Inuit, cautivo nuestra atención, no sólo por la calidad de la manifestación, sino por la capacidad de integrar diferentes dimensiones de la existencia, la diversidad de grupos representados y la magnitud de la exhibición. Es una de esas exhibiciones a las que uno podría volver regularmente a apreciar con una conciencia renovada cada vez.
The Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Museum of Inuit Art were a great source of satisfaction and inspiration. Undoubtedly, the Qaumajuq Museum of Inuit art captivated us, not only for the quality of the artwork, but also for the ability to integrate different dimensions of existence, the diversity of groups represented, and the magnitude of the exhibition. It is one of those exhibits to which one could regularly return to appreciate with a renewed awareness each time.
También visitamos FortWhyte, paseamos y apreciamos los bisontes y las aves, nos encargamos de algunas tareas, incluido el cambio de aceite en el Wrangler, y disfrutamos del café, la comida y la librería Bison.
We also visited FortWhyte, walking around and appreciating the bison and the birds, took care of some tasks including on oil change on the Wrangler, and enjoyed coffee, food, and the Bison Book Store.
